Arnold Palmer Invitational Betting Tips & Predictions 2023
The PGA Tour roadshow heads over this week to Bay Hill Club & Lodge for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which represents the second leg of the Florida swing. Last weekend, we bore witness to , which saw the 37-year-old secure his first PGA Tour title in eight years. After skipping the Honda Classic, many of the world’s top 50 players will be teeing it up at the Arnie Palmer Invitational, a♏nd unsurprisingly, Jon Rahm is heading the betting markets. The Spaniard has been in scintillating form, winning four times in his past ♚nine worldwide starts. 2023 already has the ingredients to be an annus mirabilis for him.
He currently ranks f🙈irst for greens in regulation (76%), and he is sixth for driving distance (316 yards). Bay Hill Lodge is mostly flat, but it has plenty of water features and challenges per hole. Currently, the favourite at 6/1, Rahm could take some stopping if he gets off to a quick start🤪.
Arguably, Scottie Scheffler will garner plenty of attention. The Phoenix Open winner is the reigning Arnie Palmer Invitational champion, and in some of the toughest conditions 12 🔯months ago, he fired an even-par round of 72 to finish one shot clear of Tyrrell Hatton on five under. Only 10 players finished the tournament under par, and the 2022 scoring average was 75.48, which gives an indication of how tricky the course was playing. Scheffler, who is priced at 9/1 with most bookmakers could push Rahm hard.
If you are looking for value elsewhere, you may wish to consider Max Homa. With four top-10 finishes under his belt, including victory at the Farmers Insurance Op🔯en, the American has been a model of consistency. He is third for strokes gained this term (2.264), second for overall putting average (1.522), and he is also second in the FedEx Cup rankings. He could well have another productive week, and although he’s available at 18/1 with most bookmakers, another top-10 finish is an eminent possibility.

Golf is one of the most popular sports in the world for people to bet on, boasting so many events that fans a treated to a new one teeing off practically every week! With huge fields of players competing against each other, there's good value betting available across various tournaments for even the shorte🍎st-priced favourite.
Let's look at some of the many ways you can bet on golf below.
Outright Tournament Winner Betting
Undoubtedly the most popular betting market for golf is wagering on the eventual outright winner of the tournament, especially since golf is prone to longer odds than most other sports. This is a simple, uncomplicated wager in which you back a player to win the tournament. So long 🌠as your pick emerges victorious, you will see a return of investment on your initial ꧋bet.
Each-Way Betting
Moreover, when you consider that many UK online bookies pay extra finishing places as a bonus, your player can even finish among the top eight or so for this part of your bet to win. This is especially welcome, given that most fields typically go off with around 140 players. Some bookmakers will offer 1/4 of the odds for a place, while other betting sites may offer 1/5 but for more places.
Top Nationality Betting
Not to be confused with the market where you back a winner to come from a particular nation, this bet requires you to nominate the highest-placing player from a particular country. 𝓰These could include top-scoring Englishman, ꦑhighest-finishing Frenchman, or top Australian.
Hole-in-One Betting
Moreover, it always remains a possibility, especially since players are continually sharpening their precision skills as they acquire more state-of-the-art equipment.
History of Arnold Palmer Invitational
-
As one of the most illustrious stops in the PGA Tour, the Arnold Palmer Invitational (formerly the Bay Hill Invitational) has enjoyed 20 years as one of Floridian golf’s premier events. Thanks to having Ar🅷nold Palmer’s name attached to it, and the respect it 🗹commands, the tournament has grown into one of the most highly regarded outside of the majors.
-
The Arnold Palmer Invitational was first staged in 1979, when it was brought in to replace the outgoing Florida Citrus Open. At the time, Bob Byman became the first-ever winner when he won in a shock victory by way of a playoff, before the following few years saw Dave Eichelberger reel off four titles in a row.
-
As the event grew in stature, the PGA upgraded the tournament to elite invitational status in 1984, similar to the WGC St Jude Invitational. The competition took its new name in 2007, but has had a number of different monikers over its history. Hertz became the title sponsor in 1985 prior to Nestle taking over in 1989, the same year that Palmer 🦩himself redesigned all 18 greens of the course.
-
By 2000, the event had crowned Tiger Woods for the first time as he claimed the first of his eight career wins here. Four years later, Mastercard became the presenting sponsor, and by 2011, we had our first European winner of the tournament, when took home the title. To this day, he has been joined by only two other players from Europe after Francesco Molinari from Italy took the win in 2019 and Tyrell Hatton from England won in 2020.
-
The event has enjoyed a number of esteemed winners over the years, but none more so than Tiger Woods. The world-famous golf player has been an astonishin🌠g eight times, which remains a tournament record.
-
In 2022, Scottie Scheffler defeated the field as he finished one shot ahead of them with a total of -5. After a rock♛y front nine, the American was much cleaner on the back nine, as he produced eight pars and a birdie.
